This lovely red barn dates from 1904, and supports this Lily Wreath Block. See it at 4825 NE Starr Blvd, Hillsboro. This historic farm once produced lilies and is the site of the historic Haag-Shute farm house built in 1890. It is also the site of the old Methodist Meeting House and is #36 on the Quilt Barn Trail.
The Demmin Farm, 33488 SW Tongue Lane is up and ready to view. Navy Captain Lester Demmin was in command of a nuclear submarine during the Cold War; we're happy to present "Captain's Star" as Number 34 on the trail. He came home to farm for a while after he retired. The farm grows commercial blueberries and other crops.
|Number 35 is this small but classic house block at the Taghon Century Farm, located at 1645 NW Cornelius-Shefflin Road, Cornelius. The property includes several old buildings from the original farm as well as a Sears kit house, the reason for the house block selection.|
